An artist that I admire.

It's complicated to choose an artist in specific that I admire, I feel that I admire many artists for his story or his works, but exist an artist who has started to interest me lately is Jesse Kanda.
I don't know if admiring is the word, but undoubtedly I like his work very much.

Jesse Kanda was born on June 23, 1987 in Kanagawa, Japan, is an artist, animator and musician based in London.
he was born and raised in Japan and Canada. Besides his solo career as an artist and musician, he is also well known for his collaborations with musicians like Arca, FKA twigs and Bjork.

               Since age 13, Kanda has shared his work online with the advent of artistic social networks deviantArt.com and mp3.com in the early 2000s. Today he continues to do so, now expanding into   exhibitions and live shows. 

His music is electronic and experimental style and i enjoy it very much but the works that I feel that I admire above all are his digital works, in videos and images.

Common themes in Kanda's work have been, death, decay, freedom, empathy, sexuality, dreams, sensuality, body and movement.

  Kanda often employs a unique balance of aesthetic beauty and the grotesque. Juxtaposing life and death; or love and fear. Although he is mostly known for his sculptural mixed media images, animations and music, he has also ventured into traditional filmmaking, sculpture, fashion, painting and photography.

I like his work for it's themes and the

way it represents the body, the deformation, the grotesque in duality with the beauty of the complete image and above all its handling with the digital and how it generates sensations with the materiality of its images or videos.
